News & Updates

More than 100 Catalist companies advance to sponsor status

5 January 2010 – More than 100 Catalist companies have appointed sponsors and only 14 Catalist Non-Sponsored (“NS”) companies have not appointed a sponsor.  Most of these Catalist NS companies have stated in their quarterly progress reports that they will be deciding on their sponsors and progressing to the sponsor-supervised regime before February 2010.

Companies that have not appointed a Sponsor by 5 February 2010 are subject to share trading suspension until 31 December 2010.  Trading of shares will resume when a company appoints a Sponsor or undertakes corporate action to maintain their listing status.  Catalist-NS companies without a Sponsor after 31 December 2010 will be delisted.

Please refer to Appendix 1 for the list of Catalist-NS companies that have not appointed a Sponsor as at 5 January 2010.

Investors are advised to review and monitor companies’ transition status when making investment decisions. Such updates and details are disclosed in the companies’ quarterly progress reports and corporate announcements.
